<\/FONT>Hurricane Earl, the first hurricane of the 2010 season to near the Cape Fear region, passed us safely offshore during the evening of Thursday, September 2nd.<\/P>\n

Earl, was a catagory 4 storm with a huge footprint when it exited the Caribbean, and had the potential to wreck havoc with its massive storm surge.  Fortunately, the storm weakened to a catagory 3 as it approached and remained over 100 miles offshore.<\/P>\n

Over a dozen prudent boat owners from Bald Head Island, Southport, and Wrightsville Beach took advantage of our secure floating docks and upriver location to protect their floating investments.  <\/P>\n

Had Earl been forcast to make a direct hit, our marina would have been filled to capacity.  <\/P>\n

Although we were spared this time, three months remain for the 2010 hurricane season, and this is the time of year where storms come one after another off the Cape Verde Islands with North America in their sights.<\/P>\n

To ensure a dockage for the next one, we advise taking a three-month slip rental at only $10\/foot\/month for a three month pre-pay.<\/P>\n
