Cape Fear Marina is widely recognized as a natural hurricane hole. Our 25 nm distance from the mouth of the Cape Fear River minimizes the impact of storm surges, and high ground on our eastern bank protects boats docked here from the high winds typical found in the NE quadrant of a storm.

The Hurricane Plan is basically a dockage reservation program. When it appears a hurricane will impact the region, BBY personnel contact boat owners on the list and take reservations.
