Founded in 1986, Bennett Brothers Yachts specializes in the service, repair, and refit of yachts of all sizes and haulouts up to 70 tons, including catamarans, deep draft sailboats, sportfishing boats, and cruising powerboats. Located in Downtown Wilmington, North Carolina along the Northeast Cape Fear River, Bennett Brothers Yachts offers skilled repair and service in all departments at their boatyard adjacent to the 70 slip Cape Fear Marina with dockage for vessels up to 175’.
Paul and Patricia Bennett positioned Bennett Brothers Yachts strategically on the east coast of the United States allowing owners and captains to easily stop for service, repair, refit, and dockage. Access to Wilmington’s wide array of rich history, beautiful beaches, mild climate, and plethora of experiences that make it one of North Carolina’s fastest growing cities, add to the allure of the coastal North Carolina location.
After a courageous eight year battle with cancer, Paul passed away in 2007 when his wife, Patricia, took over leading Bennett Brothers Yachts employees and operations.
A quality product was a non-negotiable for both Paul and Patricia which resonated with the crew they formed and continues to, where the skilled tradesmen and women at Bennett Brothers Yachts take tremendous pride in their quality of work.
Current departments and capabilities include, haulout and mobile service, paint and fiberglass, engines and systems, electronics, carpentry, and hardware and rigging.
Paul and Patricia’s history of boat building, importing, and brokering, all shaped the current philosophy the ownership and management team at Bennett Brothers Yachts takes, with a deep understanding of the impact quality service has on a customer’s experience, achieving ABBRA’s Excellence in Customer Care in 2015. Patricia continues to lead the boatyard as President while second oldest son, Connor, now serves as Vice President. Brendan, the youngest son joins the team on the yard ground learning the business from the technician’s perspective, as Connor also did. Growing up with custom Bennett sailboats(Bennett46 and 48, Stevens 40, 42, 47, and 50) and sportfishing boats(Bennett47) under construction, Connor, Brendan and the experienced management team at Bennett Brothers Yachts all understand the effort it takes to appropriately, efficiently, and accurately accomplish your yacht project, offering you the greatest value in your repairs. Patricia and her late husband, Paul, established Bennett Brothers Yachts in 1986, brokering and building custom sailing and power boats to the acclaim of industry experts. A shift from custom building to service, repair, and refit involved the creation of the Cape Fear River boatyard location as it stands today. Patricia enjoys gardening, distance running and spending time with her rescued dogs and adult children. Paul and Patricia’s four children are Paul Jr., Connor, Brendan and Maggie. Patricia dedicates her time outside of work to the Big Buddy program, WILMA leadership program, and the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. Patricia’s best day would be spent outdoors with her family on Bald Head Island, North Carolina or on Keuka Lake in upstate New York where extended family reside.Read More
